Sayur Pucuk Bandung

Last Saturday night, just like a normal Saturday night for me.
“Makan!Makan!
As usual my mother in law calling for us. Slowly I move to the dining area. But when I reached the table, one of the menus caught my attention immediately. Sayur pucuk Bandung...It has been my favorite sayur since I was a kid. My late mother use to cook it for me before I went to school. The taste and the aroma of the sayur puck bandung really turn my memory disk back to time. Since my mother suffered stroke which was in year 1996 and then she passes away in the year 2006. And then suddenly tonight, my favorite sayur was in front of me. It took 13 years for me before I saw it again. Same taste, same aroma, my mother in law got it right. So perfect. I just couldn’t control myself as I burst into tears. I never thought that I will ever taste sayur pucuk bandung. My sister did try to cook it for me few years back but they don’t get the taste right. So I was just crying in front of my plate looking at the sayur pucuk bandung. And deep in my heart, I realized how much I miss my mother and my father.
Not that I’m being sentimental but it make me sad because both of my parent passed away before I can take good care of them. I don’t have that opportunity. Seeing around me how younger generation treats their parents make me feel sad. Feels like I just want to say that don’t be rude to your parents. You will not have the opportunity in paying them back for what they have done to you. No money in the world can repay them but they will be satisfied when they saw their children growing into somebody that respect their parents, success in the world and such…
